We recently completed a tidy outdoor lighting job in Shepperton that really improved the entrance to a private estate and added some evening curb appeal. The client had four brick pillars at the driveway entrance, not far from the famous Walton Bridge, and wanted them lit with something classic yet effective.
We installed four modern box lanterns — one on each pillar. The main challenge on this job was that two of the pillars were free-standing, with no direct access to power. To overcome this, we carefully lifted sections of the block paving between the main wall's and the gate pillars. This allowed us to run cabling underneath the two pedestrian entrances to reach the centre pillars without disturbing too much of the driveway.
We took power from each end of the main wall and paired each set of lanterns with its own dawn-to-dusk sensor. This means the lights now switch on automatically at sunset and off again at sunrise — a simple, hands-off setup that keeps the entrance smart and well-lit all year round.
The finished result is a clean, classic look that really lifts the property's appearance after dark. The client was over the moon with how it turned out — and to top it all off, we provided a drone video to showcase the work.
